Richard Sharpe is a career soldier, try as he might to leave it behind sometimes. He always seems to end up going back. He is now Unbound and living with his wife Lucille on her farm in Normandy, with their son.

Physically, he looks like Sean Bean (since I'm going by TV canon rather than books) - blond, handsome, well-built, numerous battle scars. These include the marks of 202 lashes on his back, a deep slash to the left shoulder, a lance wound to the side, the mark of a musket ball on his scalp, a gash to his left cheek, two sword slashes to his back, a sabre slash to his arm, a bayonet slash to his thigh, a sword slash to the knee, two pistol bullet wounds to the thigh, a musket ball wound to the abdomen and several scars on the thigh from being shot with rusty nails.

He speaks with a broad Yorkshire accent most of the time, though he can and does modulate this when the occasion demands it (ie, when he's talking to a superior officer).

It's possibly worth adding that this man is not entirely sane. Most of the time, you'd never know there's anything wrong. But just sometimes, usually in the wake of the death or other loss of someone he cared about, the cracks start to show. Or sometimes he snaps outright. And when that happens, you will know.
